The best WhatsApp tools for Indian D2C brands
Indian D2C economics are different. Cash on delivery is common, so confirming orders matters. Buyers find you on Instagram and ask questions on WhatsApp. And message costs are in rupees at Meta's India rates: ₹0.8631 for marketing and ₹0.115 for utility from 1 October 2026.
A global tool built for prepaid, email-first markets misses most of that. This ranking is for Indian brands.

| 2 | Interakt | Established Shopify brands | WhatsApp from ₹2,799 a month + markup on Meta charges |

1. Tadlo AI
Our top pick
Best for: COD-first Indian brands that sell on Instagram
Tadlo AI's Growth plan, ₹2,499 a month, covers the Indian D2C stack: abandoned carts, COD confirmation with a switch to prepaid, order updates from Shopify and WooCommerce, and broadcasts with cost preview.
There is no markup, so a month of 10,000 marketing and 20,000 utility messages costs Meta's ₹10,931 in message charges, not more. Instagram comments can open WhatsApp chats when you have paid plans on both Tadlo products, which matches how Indian buyers shop.
Price: Free forever plan with up to 10 messages a day. Starter ₹999, Growth ₹2,499, Pro ₹5,999 and Scale ₹11,999 a month, priced on unique contacts engaged per month. Meta's message charges are billed by Meta directly to your own account, and Tadlo adds no markup. Prices exclude GST.
Strengths
- No markup on Meta's message charges: Meta bills your own WhatsApp Business Account directly, and Tadlo only charges a flat plan
- Built for D2C: abandoned cart recovery, COD to prepaid nudges and order updates from Shopify and WooCommerce (Growth plan and above)
- Instagram comments to WhatsApp chats, which most WhatsApp-only tools cannot do
- Priced on unique people reached, not on every message, so you can follow up without counting sends
- Number health checks every 15 minutes, gradual ramp-up for new numbers and automatic opt-out handling
- Your WhatsApp Business Account is created inside your own Meta business account, so it stays yours
Limitations
- Newer than AiSensy, WATI or Interakt, with a shorter track record
- Commerce automations start on the Growth plan (₹2,499 a month)
- Tadlo AI is onboarding brands in stages, and you request access on its WhatsApp page.
2. Interakt

Interakt charges its own per-message rates, which sit above Meta's: marketing ₹0.970 / ₹0.958 / ₹0.949 and utility ₹0.160 / ₹0.150 / ₹0.140 on Starter, Growth and Advanced. 14-day free trial.

3. AiSensy
Best for: Broadcast-led brands
AiSensy is one of the most widely used broadcast tools in India, with a forever-free plan and Shopify and WooCommerce on paid plans. Its rates work out about 26% above Meta's.
Price: A forever-free plan gives WhatsApp API access with ₹1000 in ad credits and ₹50 in conversation credits, for 1 agent, without broadcasts or integrations. Paid plans were Basic ₹1,500 and Pro ₹3,200 a month according to AiSensy's blog on 17 February 2025. - Order updates as utility messages, the cheapest category.
- Instagram to WhatsApp, because discovery happens on Instagram.

- Rupee billing and GST invoices for your accounts.
Choosing between them
- COD is a large share of orders: Tadlo AI, for COD confirmation and the prepaid switch.
- You are on Shopify and want the longest track record: Interakt.

Festive season planning
Diwali and other festive sales bring the biggest campaigns of the year. Plan your opt-in list and templates weeks ahead, check your messaging limit, and use a tool that shows the cost of each broadcast before you send. New business portfolios start with a messaging limit of 250 people in a moving 24-hour period, which can rise to 2,000, 10,000, 100,000 and then unlimited as you send high-quality messages and use at least half of your limit in 7 days.
