The best Instagram DM automation tools for D2C brands

By DilKart Editorial. Updated 16 October 2026.

D2C brands use Instagram DMs for three jobs a creator rarely needs: answering a flood of "price?" enquiries on product posts, building a waitlist before a drop, and measuring which influencer posts actually drive interest.

We ranked tools on those three jobs, and on what happens to the bill when a collab post takes off.

1. Tadlo AI

Our top pick

Best for: Price enquiries, drops and influencer keywords

Tadlo AI answers "price" with a carousel of the products in the post, runs several keyword rules on the same post, and keeps a leads inbox with the source post for every email collected.

For drops, a keyword such as "EARLY" collects people into a waitlist before launch, with their email captured in the DM so you can reach them on launch day. For influencer campaigns, give each creator their own keyword, so the analytics show which collab drove DMs and clicks. Unlimited DMs on every plan means a collab that outperforms costs nothing extra.

Price: Free forever plan with no card needed. Paid plans start at ₹249 a month in India or $5 a month elsewhere. Every plan, including Free, has unlimited automations and unlimited DMs (no monthly DM quota and no per-contact charge; sends are paced within Instagram's limits).

Strengths

  • Unlimited DMs and automations on every plan, including Free, so a viral reel never raises your bill
  • Verified follow gate: checks through Instagram's API whether the commenter really follows you before sending the link
  • Comment-to-DM on any comment or chosen keywords, story reply automation and DM keyword flows in a visual flow builder
  • Email capture, comment-to-product carousels and a link-in-bio page in the same tool
  • Connects with Instagram Business Login on the official API, so no Facebook Page is needed
  • AI reel analysis and analytics on paid plans

Limitations

  • Facebook comment-to-DM and Messenger keyword replies are still being added
  • Newer than ManyChat, so the template library and tutorial community are smaller
  • The Free plan covers one Instagram account
  • The Free plan adds a "via Tadlo" line to DMs and limits lead export to 100 leads

Influencer posts: measure each one

Give each creator a unique keyword, such as the creator's name, and a unique discount code. Comments on their post trigger your DM, and you can count DMs, clicks and code uses by creator. That tells you which collabs to repeat, which is worth more than any single campaign.

Price enquiries at scale

On a popular product post, half the comments can be some version of "price?". Replying to each by hand is impossible, and ignoring them loses sales. A keyword rule covering "price", "prize", "rate", "kitna" and "cost" sends the product and price in the DM, and a short public reply tells everyone else to check their messages. Review the comments after the first hour and add any variant you missed.

Launch day without a cap

A drop concentrates demand into a few hours. Tools with monthly DM caps can stop sending exactly when demand peaks, and contact-billed tools charge most for that day. Check what your tool does at your expected launch volume before the day, not on it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Instagram DM automation for D2C brands?

Tadlo AI is our top pick: product carousels for price enquiries, keyword waitlists for drops, and unlimited DMs on every plan.

How do I track influencer campaigns with Instagram DMs?

Give each creator a unique comment keyword and discount code, then compare DMs, clicks and code uses by creator.

Can I build a waitlist for a product drop on Instagram?

Yes. A keyword such as "EARLY" collects people who comment. Ask for their email or WhatsApp opt-in in the DM, because Instagram only lets you message someone freely within 24 hours of their last message, and launch day is usually later.
